Il nome “Recoaro” deriva probabilmente dal nome proprio tedesco Richwar o da “REX AQUARUM”, re delle acque.

I primi insediamenti [B]cimbri[/B] si registrarono probabilmente già intorno all’anno mille, nella zona di Rovegliana e proprio da un documento del 1327, la città risulta sotto l’amministrazione di quest’ultima; successivamente appartenne sempre a Vicenza e ne seguì le sorti.
Nel 1689 il conte Lelio Piovene scoprì la fonte che porta il suo nome che però venne sfruttata solo 5 anni più tardi.

Alla fine dell’800 Recoaro divenne uno dei più [B]rinomati centri termali[/B] dell’alta Italia e acquistò il tipico aspetto di “ville d’eau” con architetture liberty.

Intorno al 1920 fu avviata [B]l’attività di imbottigliamento [/B]dell’acqua minerale da tavola e delle celebri bibite con marchio “Recoaro”.
